Brand new from the French Conserve specialist, Bonne Maman is delighted to introduce Salted Caramel - a rich toffee caramel, lightly seasoned with Guérande sea salt from the North Western coast of France.
and in a sweet new jar…
Presented in a new-size 220g traditional Bonne Maman jar, complete with signature red & white gingham lid, this caramel has a very smooth texture, perfect for spreading, dipping or drizzling. Fantastic slightly warmed and poured over thin French crêpes, waffles or pancakes – do try Banana Buttermilk Pancakes with Toffee Apple Sauce.
Adding a little apple juice to the Salted Caramel in the pan turns it into a slightly lighter, toffee apple sauce, just perfect for pouring over vanilla ice cream and soft fruit. It is also very good served as a dip in a small pot with a plate of bite-size, fresh fruit chunks at children’s parties.
Highly versatile, new Salted Caramel also works extremely well in cakes and bakes, adding contrasting degrees of deeper flavour and acidity to sweetness; so giving a whole new dimension to recipes such as this new showstopper, Chocolate Caramel Fudge Cake which also features new conserve, Mirabelle Plum.
Salted Caramel is also perfect for making a foolproof, always crowd pleasing Banoffee Pie... the new jars are just the right size to serve fun individual ‘Banoffees in a Jar’ at suppers, picnics or festivals.
New Salted Caramel is available now in Sainsbury’s nationwide in the spreads aisle and will also be appearing on shelf in Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons and Ocado during September.
If you have a copy of Bonne Maman; The Seasonal Cookbook then please note that any standard Caramel recipes also work splendidly with new Salted Caramel, just hold back if the recipe suggests adding a pinch of salt as it now won’t be needed.
A deliciously rich, intense new Hazelnut Praline Caramel will also start appearing on shelves during late Summer.
